The weight of a diesel engine is largely determined by the need to contain high combustion pressures which are largely experienced at cold start conditions. To comply with legislation for reduction of exhaust particulates some treatment of the exhaust gas will be necessary for new engines.
Our compressor provides variable boost pressure on demand which provides high pressure for cold starting and lower pressure for normal operation. Lowered normal running pressure enables lighter engines to achieve the same typical diesel engine life. Whilst providing variable boost a sufficient supply of air can be passed to the exhaust system for treatment of exhaust gasses.
